Iranians have agreed they do not want a nuclear weapon.

Senior adviser and assistant to the president Steve Witkoff told Breitbart News exclusively that the government of Iran has told him that the Iranians have agreed they do not want a nuclear weapon.

Witkoff, who made the explosive revelation in an exclusive long-form on-camera interview with Breitbart News on Thursday at the White House, is leading negotiations for President Donald Trump with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Witkoff is expected to meet with the Iranians, possibly as soon as this weekend, for a fourth round of talks in Oman, after two previous discussions in Iran and another in Rome. Witkoff will be meeting with them during a broader trip to the Middle East this upcoming week, where President Trump is expected to visit Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar. Witkoff is joining Trump for those legs of the trip, but breaking off on his own to meet with the Iranians separately in Oman at the president’s direction.

“We’ve stated our position. The Iranians cannot have a bomb. They have stated back that they don’t want one,” Witkoff told Breitbart News. “So we’re going to, for the purposes of this discussion, take them at their word that that’s actually how they feel. If that’s how they feel, then their enrichment facilities have to be dismantled. They cannot have centrifuges. They have to downblend all of their fuel that they have there and send it to a faraway place—and they have to convert to a civil program if they want to run a civil program. Now, they have a civil reactor actually in the state of Iran—it’s called Bushehr. They have no enrichment capability at this place and if we take them at their word why not just turn all the rest of their facilities just like Bushehr? Bushehr they have no ability to enrich, they have no ability to have centrifuges there, they can only use that facility for civilian purposes—making of electricity and things of that sort of civilian purposes—and if that is what they choose to do, if they believe in that program, they ought to expand it if they want to. An enrichment program can never exist in the state of Iran ever again. That’s our red line. No enrichment. That means dismantlement, it means no weaponization, and it means that Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan—those are their three enrichment facilities—have to be dismantled.”

Iran is ready to sign a nuclear deal with certain conditions with President Donald Trump in exchange for lifting economic sanctions, a top advisor to Iran’s supreme leader told NBC News on Wednesday.

He said Iran would commit to never making nuclear weapons, getting rid of its stockpiles of highly-enriched Uranium which can be weaponized, agree to only enrich Uranium to the lower levels needed for civilian use, and allow international inspectors to supervise the process, in exchange for the immediate lifting of all economic sanctions on Iran.

In Wednesday’s interview, Shamkhani expressed concern that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, often known by the nickname Bibi, could try to derail the process through backchannel lobbying in Washington.

“If the Americans remove the Bibi effect, they can easily sign the deal,” Shamkhani said.

Iran is ramping up its strategic posture amid faltering nuclear talks and regional instability, claiming it has seized sensitive Israeli nuclear documents while securing materials from China to potentially produce hundreds of ballistic missiles. These developments, reported in early June, reflect Tehran’s efforts to assert power ahead of a key International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) meeting and amid growing Western scrutiny.

Iran’s Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib announced that Iranian operatives had obtained a “treasury” of strategic and scientific data on Israel’s nuclear program. No evidence was provided, and international observers have not confirmed the claim. The announcement comes just days before the IAEA board convenes to discuss Iran’s nuclear compliance, and may be intended to shift the narrative as Tehran faces renewed censure—echoing Israel’s own 2018 disclosure of Iranian nuclear files.

Gen. Michael “Erik” Kurilla, head of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), confirmed to Congress on Tuesday that the U.S. is prepared to respond with military force if ongoing Iran nuclear talks do not go as planned.

President Donald Trump has pushed Iran to permanently give up its work toward developing a nuclear weapon as it continues enriching its uranium. But Trump on Monday said the two countries, which have engaged in five rounds of nuclear talks so far, are still far from reaching the deal.

House Armed Services Chair Mike Rogers asked Kurilla whether the U.S. military is prepared to respond "with overwhelming force to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran" if directed to do so by the president.

ISRAEL ATTACKS IRAN

The Israeli Air Force conducted a strike in Iran on Thursday, according to two sources with knowledge of the operation. It's not yet clear what Israel is targeting, but explosions were reported in Tehran.

Israel is directly attacking its biggest and best-armed adversary, without clear backing from the U.S.

President Trump publicly opposed an Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear sites on Thursday, saying he still believed a nuclear deal was possible.

Yes, but: It's not clear whether Israel has ordered strikes on Iran's nuclear program, or whether the U.S. opposed this specific operation.

Sirens sounded across Israel on Thursday night. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared a special state of emergency across the entire country.

"Following the State of Israel's preemptive strike against Iran, a missile and drone attack against the state of Israel and its civilian population is expected in the immediate future," Katz said.

The U.S. notified several of its allies in private on Thursday that Israeli strikes were imminent and made clear it was not involved, one of the sources said.

The Trump administration had already told Israel it would not participate in any strikes on the nuclear program, Axios reported.

General Hossein Salami, the commander-in-chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was killed during Israel’s overnight attacks, multiple Iranian state media outlets have reported.

Israel attacked at least six military bases around Tehran, including Parchin, and residential homes at two highly secure complexes for military commanders and multiple residential buildings around Tehran, in what appears to be targeted assassinations, according to four senior Iranian officials.

The strike was intended to cripple the country’s nuclear program, Israeli officials said.

Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei Statement:

"In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

“Great nation of Iran. The Zionist regime opened its dirty and bloody hand to a crime in our beloved country this morning and revealed its evil nature by striking residential centers more than ever before. The regime must expect a severe punishment.

“The powerful hand of the Islamic Republic’s armed forces will not abandon it, God willing.

“Several commanders and scientists were martyred in the enemy attacks. Their successors and colleagues will immediately resume their duties, God willing.

“With this crime, the Zionist regime prepared a bitter and painful fate for itself and will definitely receive it."
