Rutgers Antifa professor claims he's fleeing America after 'threats'

Bray has said outright that "mass antifascism, legal or not" is what is necessary.

Rutgers professor, international Antifa financier, and author of the Antifa Handbook Mark Bray has declared his intention to flee the United States and run to Europe. He claims that he's received "multiple death threats + doxing" and that after moving his classes online, he's planning to move "for the year to Europe."

Students at Rutgers University launched a petition to remove Bray from the faculty at the New Jersey school. "We, the students of Rutgers University, are deeply concerned to learn that an outspoken, well-known antifa member, Dr. Mark Bray, is employed by the university.

"Dr. Mark Bray, whom we call Dr. Antifa, wrote the antifa handbook, which is a guideline to what he refers to as 'militant anti-fascism'. With the current trend of left-wing terrorism, having a prominent leader of the antifa movement on campus is a threat to conservative students on campus," they write.

"Dr. Bray has regularly referred to mainstream conservative figures such as Bill O’reilly as fascist while he calls for militant actions to be taken against these individuals. This is the kind of rhetoric that resulted in Charlie Kirk being assassinated last month."

Post Millennial Senior Editor Andy Ngo, who reports on Antifa both domestically and internationally, noted that "Bray is one of the major financiers of the International Antifa Defence Fund, which also announced that it was shutting down to relocate its operations abroad in an attempt to escape U.S. prosecution."

Bray claimed that the harassment and doxing has come "directly following harassment from Turning Point USA, Jack Posobiec, Andy Ngo, + Fox News which called [him] an antifa 'financier.'"

Bray has said outright that "mass antifascism, legal or not" is what is necessary. He wrote that: "It's true that sometimes the law holds back Trump and affords us some semblence of safety. But the more we lean into the law as our shielf, the more powerful it will become as a sword when Trump changes it in his favor and wields it against us.

"Only mass antifascism, legal or not, can save us."

"They're insane," Jack Posobiec said in response.

"Bray is an open advocate of Antifa violence and announced is he fleeing to Europe (likely Spain) after the U.S. government took steps to treat Antifa as domestic and foreign terrorists," Ngo said.

Bray authored Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook, The Anarchist Inquisition: Assassin, Activists, and Martyrs in Spain and France, and Translating Anarchy: The Anarchism of Occupy Street. He also worked on Anarchist Education and the Modern School: A Francisco Ferrer Reader.

It was later confirmed that Bray was moving to Spain.

Antifa has been designated a terrorist organization by the Trump administration. Militants from that group have been targeting federal facilities in Portland since June.
