And it begins…

🚨 UK PM Kier Starmer says Digital ID will be MANDATORY for their Citizens to have the Right to Work

Look at his hands as he says it…

“Let me spell it out, you will not be able to work in the United Kingdom if you do not have digital ID. It’s as simple as that.”

He says it will be done before the end of this parliament. The end of the current UK Parliament, is no later than August 2029. Just in time for their Agenda 2030 plan. Hopefully something happens before then.

Digital ID could leave UK with China-style social credit system

Sir Keir Starmer is pushing for mandatory ID cards, claiming they will address illegal immigration. However, critics argue that the real solution lies in stopping improper entry to the country, not monitoring citizens. Past arguments for ID cards remain weak, while opposition has grown as technology advances.

The dangers of such cards, evidenced by abuses in other countries like China, illustrate the potential for state overreach and erosion of privacy. Many believe that ID cards could lead to unwarranted surveillance and restrictions on citizens.

"You now need them to catch a train, apply for a job, buy a SIM card, open a bank account or rent a flat. This puts vast powers of surveillance and control into the hands of state officials," says Daniel Hannman of the Telegraph.

While some conditions for state benefits may be justified, Starmer's proposal for ID cards tied to employment is seen as fundamentally illiberal. Public opinion is currently split, but resistance is growing, with nearly 2 million signing a petition against the idea.

UK Government to introduce digital ID cards for veterans, a trial for a future full scheme
SUMMARY
The UK government is launching digital ID cards for armed forces veterans as a pilot for a broader mandatory digital ID scheme. Veterans can download the new digital version of the HM Armed Forces Veteran Card via a government app starting today. This option is designed to simplify access to support services for approximately 1.8 million eligible veterans.

Ian Murray, minister for digital government, emphasized that the rollout serves as a proof of concept for public digital credentials, addressing concerns about security. Veterans can use the card to verify their status without needing to show sensitive personal data. While the card is optional, there are hopes that more veterans will sign up to access benefits. The initiative accompanies Prime Minister Starmer's controversial plans for wider compulsory ID cards in the UK.
