Israel Launches Preemptive Strike on Iran

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed Israel struck Iran early Saturday, citing intelligence of an imminent Iranian missile and drone attack.

A 48-hour nationwide state of emergency has been declared. Three explosions rocked downtown Tehran, with at least one strike reported near Supreme Leader Khamenei's offices.

Sirens are sounding across Israel as the IDF warns of expected retaliation.

Schools, gatherings, and non-essential activities are prohibited. An Israeli security source describes the operation as a joint U.S.-Israeli strike.
