The FBI secretly seized gigabytes of electronic voting records from Maricopa County, Arizona’s largest county, through a grand jury subpoena as part of an expanding criminal probe into potential election irregularities.

The action follows a January 2026 raid on a Fulton County, Georgia, elections warehouse and builds on the 2020 Arizona Senate audit that identified over 200,000 mismatched-signature ballots counted without review, plus 2024 observer reports of blank and filled absentee ballots stored together.

House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil said his panel is reviewing observer reports nationwide and working with federal partners “to make sure the law was followed in every jurisdiction.”

FBI Special Agent Hugh Raymond Evans stated in an unsealed affidavit that the bureau has substantiated some 2020 irregularities and is investigating intentional violations.
