New Mexico authorities, led by Attorney General Raúl Torrez, conducted a search Monday of Jeffrey Epstein’s former Zorro Ranch near Santa Fe as part of a reopened criminal investigation into alleged sexual abuse and sex trafficking at the property before Epstein’s 2019 death.

The search, assisted by state police and Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office, occurred with cooperation from current owners, the family of former Texas Sen. Don Huffines, who purchased the ranch in 2023.

It follows recent DOJ file releases renewing attention to the site and the creation of a state legislative commission last month. Epstein owned the ranch since 1993 but faced no New Mexico charges; a prior probe closed in 2019 at federal request.
