FCC Chairman Brendan Carr has warned broadcasters that they risk LOSING THEIR LICENSES if they air "fake news," hoaxes, or news distortions about the ongoing war with Iran.

Responding to President Trump's criticism of outlets like The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal for misleading reports on a military strike involving U.S. tanker aircraft in Saudi Arabia, Carr said that broadcasters must operate in the public interest and have a chance to correct course before license renewals.

He emphasized that broadcasters receive subsidized access to public airwaves and could face revocation for failing to meet standards.
