ROYAL NORWEGIAN PAIN: Marius Hoiby Denied Release From Pre-Sentencing Custody in Rape Trial – He Wanted ‘To Comfort’ His Ill Crown Princess Mother | UPDATE: Hoiby Is Hospitalized for the Night

The court ruled Hoiby might re-offend if released.
It seemed that things couldn’t get any worse for the family of the Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, as she was mentioned hundreds of times in the US DOJ-released Jeffrey Epstein files, while at the same time, her son Marius Hoiby was incarcerated while undergoing trial for rape and other offenses.
But things did get worse, as reports on the deteriorating health of the future queen of Norway state that she is awaiting a lung transplant donor.
Today (11), we learned that a Norwegian appeal court has rejected Hoiby’s request to be released from custody to comfort his ailing mother, Crown Princess Mette-Marit.
This comes four days before the verdict for Hoiby’s trial regarding 40 charges, including rape.
“The ruling overturned an earlier one from a lower court, which declared that the 29-year-old should be allowed to leave custody to tend to his seriously ill mother, who suffers from pulmonary fibrosis, a progressive disease that damages and scars lung tissue, and has recently been placed on a lung transplant list.
Hoiby’s lawyers claimed that Mette-Marit’s son from a relationship before her marriage to Crown Prince Haakon needed to be closer to his mother, given his concerns that every visit might be the ‘last time’ he sees her.”
Hoiby will learn of his verdict on Monday, June 15.
“It’s just the latest turn of events for the ‘black sheep’ of Norway’s royal family, after he was arrested on August 4, 2024, on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend the night prior.
Hoiby has been charged with 40 offences, including rape and assault, making death threats, assaulting a public official and violating the road traffic act. He is said to have ‘strongly denied’ the ‘essentials’ of the allegations against him.”
“According to the Norwegian outlet Se og Hør, Borg recently experienced a medical crisis and was transported from Oslo prison to a hospital, where he spent the night under medical supervision.
Shortly before a planned transfer to Ila Prison in Bærum, where Borg was expected to move to as Oslo Prison prepares to close, police brought him to a hospital, where he reportedly spent the night. The reason behind his admission has not been disclosed. He walked into the building escorted by police officers.
This past Monday, Borg was granted leave from prison to attend a meeting with his family and medical staff at Skaugum estate. There, the royal family was briefed on the risks of his mother’s impending lung transplant.
Mette-Marit’s condition has weighed heavily on Borg, with him speaking about her illness in court. ‘Being together as a family in a time like this is incredibly important — not just for my mother, but for all of us’, he said, as reported by Se og Hør. ‘It’s unbearable to be in Oslo Prison knowing she’s this ill. The last two visits, she’s been sleeping on the couch because she’s not strong enough’.”
