Man in Panama City Beach faces 30 charges in trafficking case
25-year-old Arayveion Edwards was arrested Friday morning. He’s facing 30 different charges, ranging from defrauding a lodging operator and drug possession, to felon possessing a firearm and human trafficking.
Beach police officers showed up at a 6th-floor unit of tower 3 at the Edgewater Beach Resort at about 9:00 Friday morning. They say the woman inside told them Edwards recruited her to perform sex acts and prostitution against her will.
She claims Edwards drove her from state to state, advertising her on websites known for prostitution activity. She also said Edwards would threaten to leave her stranded if she did not do what she was told.
Edwards gave police a Greenville, North Carolina address. They arrested him on the 30-different charges. He’s in the Bay County jail, held on a combined bond of $278,500.
