Prosecutors in the high-profile racketeering and sex-trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs declared during opening statements on Monday morning that “there was another side” to the hip-hop mogul, saying that he “ran a criminal enterprise” and noting that three women would testify during the trial who can speak to Combs’s alleged coercion and/or sexual misconduct.

More than 100 people stood in line outside of the Manhattan courthouse on Monday morning to catch a glimpse of the players in this high-profile case and to watch it unfold. Among those in line were journalists, content creators, New York residents, and fans of the music mogul.

The government delivered their opening statement first, with Emily A Johnson,who is on the prosecution team, using her remarks to accuse Combs of threatening, drugging and violently coercing women into sex, according to reporters inside the courtroom. She added that Combs had an inner coterie who helped him cover up the alleged crimes, and that company resources were used to fulfill his sexual desires.

Male escort Daniel Phillip told jurors he was paid as much as $6,000 for sex sessions with singer Cassie Ventura while her then-boyfriend Sean "Diddy" Combs watched.

Phillip said he got paid between $700 to upwards of $5,000 or $6,000 every time he and Cassie engaged in a sex marathon that could last up to 10 hours. And if he couldn't perform properly sometimes he wasn't paid anything.

As the escort and Ventura began having sex, Combs “was sitting in the corner masturbating,’’ Philip said.

Sean "Diddy" Combs used a camcorder and cellphone to record one or two of the sexual encounters between Cassie Ventura and a male escort, the court heard

"'Y'all need to rub more baby oil on each other. You don't have enough on,'" Phillips recalled Combs telling him during his encounters with Cassie that took place at hotels and at Combs' homes in Manhattan.
