They are officially moving on Trump's presidential memorandum to reduce the amount of vaccines on the recommended childhood schedule.

The American Academy of Pediatrics released its childhood vaccine recommendations Monday, breaking significantly with CDC guidance issued earlier this month by recommending immunization against 18 diseases versus the CDC's 11.

The AAP called the CDC's reduced schedule "dangerous and unnecessary," stating it will continue providing recommendations "rooted in science."

Both organizations recommend vaccinating against 11 core diseases including measles, mumps, rubella, polio, and HPV, but differ on RSV, hepatitis A and B, influenza, COVID-19, and meningococcal vaccines—which the CDC now recommends only for high-risk children or through "shared clinical decision-making" with physicians.
