On her way out as DNI, Tulsi Gabbard declassified a file her office says shows Anthony Fauci funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology — and that intelligence leadership buried the lab-leak theory to protect him.

The receipts are real: a sitting DNI published dated primary documents, and whistleblowers told ODNI they faced retaliation for backing the lab-leak hypothesis.

Buried in the hundreds of pages Tulsi Gabbard declassified on her way out as Director of National Intelligence is the CIA's own readout of a briefing it gave Anthony Fauci on June 4, 2021.

It does more than confirm Fauci spoke with intelligence officials, which his defenders have long called routine. It shows him steering them: recommending the specific scientists the intelligence community should consult for the 90-day origins review, and pointing the analysts toward work he read as evidence of a natural origin.

ODNI calls the arrangement a "circular reporting loop." Set against it is his 2024 sworn answer, asked whether he had spoken to any intelligence agency about viral research: "not to my knowledge about COVID."
